On February 11, 2012 the Hong Kong branch of WISE was officially launched with an Inauguration Skype meeting between the local Hong Kong Chairman Dr. Albert So and his new members, and in the United States with John Reed, and Dominique Surel. Dr. Albert So holds a PhD in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Hong Kong. He is also the Director of the Asian Institute of Built Environment and Associate Professor at the University of Hong Kong.
The inauguration meeting consisted of John Reed introducing Albert and giving a presentation about the WISE vision; and Dominique Surel gave a presentation on Controlled Remote Viewing. The Hong Kong branch is already very active and has scheduled local meeting every six weeks. Dr. Julie Beischel from the Windbridge Institute will be presenting at the next meeting on the topic of Survival of Consciousness.

“I feel privileged to be authorized by WISE to establish the WISE Hong Kong Branch to serve the Greater China Region and to promote WISE in East Asia. The goal of WISE fits both our near and far future visions in providing mankind some breakthrough with the help of modern science and technology. I shall do my best to recruit more members here and keep a close connection with the headquarters in North America since I frequently travel between the two continents.“

MEET THE FOUNDING HONG KONG WISE MEMBERS
Dr. Albert So
Dr. Albert So obtained his BSc, MPhil and PhD, all in electrical and electronic engineering, from The University of Hong Kong. He had been with the Electrical & Mechanical Services Department of Hong Kong Government and City University of Hong Kong. He is Director of Asian Institute of Built Environment and Honorary Associate Professor of The University of Hong Kong. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, a Chartered Engineer in the U.K. and a Registered Professional Engineer in Hong Kong. He has been interested in paranormal and supernatural studies for three decades. Since 1997, he has been a committee member of Hong Kong UFO Club and in 2001, he was the founding Vice Chair of Hong Kong Institute of Ufology. He is the representative of Washington State Paranormal Investigation and Research in Hong Kong and an Expert Advisor of Hong Kong Astral Society. Since 2005, he organizes series of international conferences on Scientific Feng Shui and the Built Environment. He wrote two books on this topic with his co-author, Dr. Michael Mak. Both books available at amazon.com. In 2012, he established the WISE Hong Kong Branch to promote WISE activities in the Greater China Region.
Dr Eric Lee
Dr Eric Lee is currently an assistant professor in the City University of Hong Kong. He is a PhD and a registered professional engineer in fire engineering. His research interests include artificial intelligence and fire safety engineering. Dr Lee is also an enthusiast in various paranormal phenomena especially in consciousness and sprit. He has actively participated in different discussion forums related to the paranormal phenomena.
Corina Chan
Corina Chan is member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (United Kingdom). She holds a master’s degree in linguistics with research interests in philology and lexicography. She is reading Buddhism at the University of Hong Kong, and is interested in neuro-science, Buddhist psychology and Sanskrit philology. She has published both in English and Chinese in science and Buddhism, classical Chinese poetry besides in her own areas of specialty William Lam Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Master of Science in Civil & Structural Engineering, Master of Business Administration, chartered engineer, member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, and member of the Institution of Structural Engineer of UK. I’m working in the MTR Corporation Limited, the mass transit organisation in Hong Kong. Currently I’m undertaking a research project under the Engineering Doctorate programme in the Department of Civil and Architecture of the City University of Hong Kong. The research focus is crowd behaviour in built environment. The research interest is the human psychology and behaviours in response to various scenarios and the built environment. The interest areas in paranormal or unexplained phenomena include UFO, spiritual world, and everything related to the mind’s capability and how the mind works.
Philip Leung
An architect by profession. Studied and gained 2 Master degrees from Hull University and Cambridge University in the UK, joined the Mass Transit Railway Corporation Ltd. (MTR), the metro company in Hong Kong after working in London since graduation.
Have been working with the MTR for 16 years and is currently the section manager of an interdisciplinary team of engineers providing design and engineering supports to the operating railways. I am passionate in the application of Virtual Design & Construction to enhance building performance and workflow in the life cycle of buildings, from design and construction to the operation and maintenance of building assets. Currently, I am undertaking a research project in the City University of Hong Kong on energy optimization by means of estimating the real-time energy consumption and passenger capacity of subway stations. I am interested in many subjects in paranormal phenomena from mysticism, afterlife, reincarnation to synchronicity.
Dr. K.C. Wong
Dr. K.C. Wong is a Faculty member of the Department of Real Estate and Construction, the University of Hong Kong. He mainly teaches land economics. He is an advocator of scientific philosophy in research, and interested in applying it to social sciences andparanormal phenomena. Chinese poetry and calligraphy are his hobbies.
