The Forecasting and Future Studies Division does research that may be of interest and value to individuals, scholars, investors, government agencies, and many others. We imagine, contemplate, and analyze all national and international technological, geopolitical, economic, military, terrorist, geological, Black Swan, and other possible significant events and scenarios. In addition, we assign probabilities, monitor warning signs, and prepare contingency plans for each. This division’s philosophy is that there is no excuse for the lame excuse of “No one could have imagined that.” (This was an excuse offered by several US government officials for the 9/11 disaster and lack of preparedness for that event. But 9/11 is not nearly as catastrophic as other possible man-made disasters, which should be prepared for.)
