The Language and Linguistics Division does advanced research on partially or completely undeciphered written or spoken languages, such as that of the Mayans and Easter Island; ancient languages, such as Latin and Sanskrit; non-alphabetical languages such as hieroglyphs and cuneiforms, and all other aspects of languages and linguistics.
