The Chinese Medicine, Science, and Culture Division (中華醫學、科學及文化學院)conducts research on acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicines, feng shi, qi energy, and many other subjects that would be of interest and value to individuals, scholars, health care institutions, and many others. This includes scientific research and studies on all of the subjects indicated by the research centers below, as well as, other specialized subjects in these fields. In addition to doing research, this division seeks to promote learning of the Chinese language, promote greater understanding of the Chinese culture, and promote greater interaction between researchers and scholars in China and those in the United States and other countries around the world.
To achieve these goals, the WISE Chinese Medicine, Science, and Technology Division will collaborate and cooperate with researchers and scholars at:
1) Chinese universities and colleges throughout China, such as Beijing University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Zhejian University, University of Hong Kong, and many others;
2) Chinese research organizations throughout China, such as the Shanghai Innovative Research Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine (SIRC-TCM) (http://www.sirc-tcm.sh.cn), the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences;
3) Chinese government organizations, such as the Department of High and New Technology and Industrialization (MOST) and the Department of International Cooperation (MOST); and
4) Chinese cultural organizations and institutes in China and around the world, such as the Confucius Institutes, the Science and Civilization in China Project at the Needham Research Institute, Cambridge, England, and many others.
Through mutual collaboration and cooperation, this WISE division seeks to attain a much higher level and more rapid rate of scientific achievement and technological innovation and development than could be achieved without such cooperation.
